At New Westminster’s award-winning Olé Olé Mexican Deli, diners are greeted as amigos by the charismatic owner, Raul Senties. Using traditional recipes borrowed from his mother, Raul proudly offers his customers homestyle Mexican dishes such as chimichangas, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, burritos and tamales all prepared using the freshest of ingredients.
“We have traditional Mexican hamburgers—nobody else makes those—and we also make Mexican-style pizza,” says Raul. “The restaurant is my home, I really want to please my customers and offer them the best meals that I can.” Indeed, Raul runs his restaurant for all the right reasons: he loves to cook and loves to see the big smiles on his customers’ faces as they enjoy the dishes he grew up eating.
If his customers are looking for something new to try, Raul is more than happy to accommodate and prepare a special dish that isn’t listed on his two-page menu. “I like to cook everything for my customers,” says Raul. “Sometimes my customers are tired of eating the same thing, so I make something special for them.”
