Really great service and excellent meals. Warm diner atmosphere. Glad the YP App uncovered it for me while visiting the area from out of province. Highly recommend.
I love going to eat at the Homestyle Diner - I always feel so very welcome. The wait staff are amazing and friendly - they even know my name! I love the atmosphere- each season brings new decorations and new treasures to look at and purchase. I also look forward to seeing what new pictures are on the wall and gifts I can purchase for my loved ones. BUT the absolute best part is the food. I love eating there any time of day from breakfast to lunch to dinner - I have been known to drop in for dessert or deep fried pickles (which are to die for!) I can't say which is my favourite because I love the breakfast - the peppers, onions and bacon in my hashbrowns are amazing. I love the schnitzel with the coleslaw and sauerkraut! I love the pies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My absolute favourite is the banana chocolate cream pie! And they make a wicked rice pudding!!! Thank you for feeding me so well each time I come & thank you for helping me to leave with a smile!
My friends and i came in and were so impressed, the food we ordered was hot and excellent all of us have been back many times. I love the burgers, you can tell they are home-made and fresh and there are so many different ones, i have now tried them all. Two of my friends had the schnitzel and loved it, one had fresh mushrooms on top, and the other fried onions and cheese, both were happy and full with such huge peices they were so full. My girlfriend had a rolled rib and had never had one before, the thing was massive and we have gone back with here parents to all get them. Now we have her parents hooked too. The service has been excellent on all of our trips to the diner, and the place feels like home, decorated all the time. We even got some soap shaped like pie in cool take out containers, for mothers day gifts last time we were in. Homestyle is a hidden gem!!!!!
Their schnitzels barely fit on the plate! For under $20, I couldn't finish it all, and it made a great second meal. Complete with loads of mashed potatoes, veggies, coleslaw and gravy, it was delicious. The atmosphere was fairly quiet, but both the guests and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend the schnitzels there muchly.
I typically hit this restaurant weekly for breakfast. I have never had anything off the lunch/dinner menu but here is a quick run down on breakfast. order the homefries crispy if you want them crisp, if not, they will be soft potatos with some seasoning, still okay, but personally i go crisp with the onion bacon and green pepper. New Management came in a couple months ago and they are testing out some new things for an updated menu. They are currently testing out a cinnamon raisin french toast, it is so good! it is a little on the small side serving size wise, but a great size for someone with a smaller appetite, or order a side to go with it and its perfect. The regular french toast is quite delicious as well, much bigger in proportion. The typical breakfast, eggs, meat, and toast has the option of home fries or 3 small pancakes. The toasted western sandwich is really good, but depending on the day, sometimes the bottom slice of bread is a bit soggy. The omelet is a disappointment, the things you want in your omelet are just that, wrapped in your egg. the taste is fine, it just makes it hard to eat. perhaps with the new management this is something that will change. They serve grapefruit juice, apple juice, tomato juice and orange juice. I have had the apple and orange, and they were not great now I stick with the coffee and water. the coffee is delicious. My finacee adores the coleslaw Overall the breakfast is great.
