Jodie Dusseault can’t remember a time that she didn’t dance. Growing up in small town Grimsby, Ont., she started with ballet and jazz but soon outgrew the instruction and went on the hunt for something more serious. She found it, and now shares everything she learned with new generations of kids at Front and Centre Dance Academy in Forest Hill.
As a teen, Jodie found inspiration while watching a dance show in Hamilton. “There was blond girl my age dancing this fantastic solo, and I asked who trained her, and it was none other than famed Russian teacher Vitek Winzca,” Jodie recalls. She auditioned, made the company and began performing—alongside greats like Karen Kain, Frank Augustin and Robert Desrosier’s company—before moving on to Ryerson’s Theatre Dance program.
