The food and drinks here are excellent. My waiter Chris was an very nice and lovely waiter. I definitely would recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Can’t wait to come back here for some more of their delicious food!
Had been going to this restaurant for a couple of years and it was great. Then the waiters and cook must have changed, the waiter was not as friendly and who in their right mind would serve seafood risotto recipe on a wood board!!! I have had steak served on a wood board with groove all around to catch the juice but never risotto! Never going back since I complained and was told that it was the chief choice. Well not mine!
This is the best Italian restaurant Ive been to in all of Ontario! The service was impeccable and the food... omg the food! Cant wait til my next visit! This is Italian done right!
Terrible food. I ordered a steak with porcini mushrooms and they forgot to add the porcini. To compensate for that they took 3$ off a 40$ dish... wow, great. The mushrooms are the most important sides in that dish, since they enhance the flavour of the steak, and they forgot to add them. On top of that the steak was lukewarm and the vegetables were raw. Extremely overpriced for the quality of food you get. I have no idea why this place gets so full. I'm never coming back here again.
Extremely rude owner. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Avoid it.
Had a great time on the patio, which we had to ourselves. Food was delicious and service was great. They went out of their way to accommodate our desires such as a customized cheese cake desert.
We noticed the serving sizes are getting smaller or the plates are larger! The food is still amazing. We rank this is our TOP 10 PLACES TO EAT. However, the serving sizes are small, esp if you order pasta. The bread now comes with olives--no butter or olive oil. I prefer butter. The desserts are amazing however the waitress did not do a good job at explaining the New Pear shape dessert, my husband ordered it and it was amazing, in the Top 3 for sure! Maybe even TOP 2 FOR DESSERTS. However the waitress said it was a chocolate dipped pear. It was pear shaped but there was no pear, it was a nice cool refreshing dessert. It looked and tasked great. Sad, we never got the correct description, she should have said pear shaped. We will visit again, the food is excellent(just small portions).
The first time walking into Antica Osteria was the best experience of my life!!! Not only was the food AMAZING!!! the service, as well as the atmosphere was AMAZING!!!! Words just cannot explain the feeling when you eat at Antica Osteria, you feel like apart of the family!!! For those that haven't had the opportunity to eat at Antica Osteria, it truly is an experience you don't want to miss out on. If there is a special occassion or simply want to have a wonderful authentic Italian meal, you need to eat at Antica Osteria! Trust me! Bon Appetito!!!
We went to this restaurant last night and was totally disappointed. It took 45 minutes just to get sliced pieces of tomatoe,s with cheese and it was too soft. We were seated by a window and were cold the whole evening. We then waited over 2 hours for our main course and it was veal. The veal was way overcooked and parts of it was burnt. It also had no taste what so ever. Our friend ordered a dessert and then was told that they ran out. By the way, this is a very popular dessert in italian restaurants. The only reason we stayed was that we felt sorry for our server. He kept having to say he was sorry for all the screw ups. We also heard the customers sitting behind us and they were also furious. The owner looked over at us several times and never offered an apologie or to even give us a free drink. If Chef Ramsey was to step foot in this place, he would shut it down.
WHAT A DUMP! NOT ONLY WAS THE FOOD BAD, IT WAS COLDER THEN THE FAKE FACED STIFF AT THE DOOR! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE MYSELF FOR EATING HERE. AND I EVEN HAD TO PAY FOR IT. ?????SORRY COULD NOT USE "PROFANITY" TO LET YOU KNOW HOW I REALLY FEEL!
Another poor experience. Arrogant door guy who was maybe a manager or owner was rude and dismissive until he realized I wanted a $200 bottle of wine. Did he change his tune then. I was truly lost to any fake charm at this point. Dry chicken with gummy mushroom sauce that looked anything but fresh, overcooked steak, and scallops. Pasta truly horrible and sauce not any better. Arrogant door guy should be ashamed of putting this meal on the table and then charging people for it. I really liked my wine.
My wife and I live close by so we decided to go for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were seated by a waitress who was very pleasant and took care of us nicely throughout the meal. We were surprised that there was no lunch offerings and had to pick from the regular evening menu. A basket of delicious bread was brought. Call me uncultured but I prefer butter on my bread as opposed to the olive oil that was provided. We shared an appetizer of the Calamari Fritti, partly because it was lunch, but also because it was $11. I love calamari and I am well aware that it can easily be overcooked but this was underdone and the coating was mushy. It was not helped by the dipping sauce that was very bland. Sorry but a lemon d'iablo aioli should have a kick to it. My wife ordered the gnocchi with figs and apples. It was a nice combination and she enjoyed it. I had the ravioli tre colori with ricotta and spinach and though obviously homemade and very colourful it was truly awful. The pasta was chewy. Not al dente but tough and there was so little of the bland filling that the ravioli looked like little pancakes. The so called cognac cream sauce was tasteless and gummy and did nothing to enhance the flavour of the dish. I wouldn't call this a bad meal but it was disappointing. We had one appetizer and two no meat pasta dishes, drank water and our lunch with tax and tip came to $60. That is acceptable when the offerings are good but this was a very middle of the road meal. On a Friday at lunch there was only 4 tables with 8 diners in total. This is a small restaurant in a generic strip mall in northwest Brampton serving fairly simple food. I don't mind paying for good food but I left this restaurant feeling let down. Judging by the lack of diners when we visited and noticing a less than full house when we drive by their large picture windows in the evening I would suggest the owners do a reality check. Either bring your prices to a more realistic level or do better than serving average food.
Great Food! Our server was really nice, really friendly. it was our first time visiting this restaurant after reading some good reviews on here. The service was a little slow to begin with, and it took about 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. It was busy but not that busy. Our Calamari came with no lemon, so our server gave us a free drink. After that the service was great, the food was really good! The lemon veal was so good, very tender. All the food is made fresh to order. The fetticiune alfredo was great..the sauce wasn't too heavy. We will for sure be going back soon!
We were a party of 10, including vegetarians. Everyone left happy! The atmosphere was great. The service was exceptional (we felt as though we were the only ones in the restaurant, and we were treated with great attention). The food was excellent as well. One person said the lobster was dry, and it should have been served with warm butter, but it mustnt have been a big deal as I noticed she finished it all. Another person said the steak wasnt cooked properly (ordered medium, got medium well), but again - it was all gobbled down! With wine and drinks (maybe two drinks each) we paid about $70 per person (for two drinks each, appetizer, salad and entree; we did not have coffee or dessert). Overall we had a great time and will return!
My husband and I have been to Antica many times now and everything has been excellent. I don't know about the other reviews where the "owner" was yelling at the staff - we have never experienced that at all in any of our visits. Quite shocking to read actually, as our experience was the owner quieting down an irrate customer who was very obviously trying to get a free meal! The owner was excellent and even made a point of apologizing to us for the interruption and giving us dessert on the house. The kitchen is impeccibly clean, the staff wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable and the food is outstanding. If you're going out for a meal - go there - you won't be disappointed!!
the RAVIOLI VERDI is the BEST thing I have ever tasted in my life....the LAMB was out of this world. The staff and owners are so welcoming and warm. The atmosphere is so beautiful. My family has been to this restaurant 5 times and there isn't a single item on the menu that isn't incredibly delicious and beautifully presented.... a must dine experience!
I have been here a few times, the food has always been good, and the service is friendly. Great place close to home. Brampton has been needed a nice restaurant like this one for a while.
My husband and I are regulars at Antica. This latest time, I had the lobster ravioli, a salad, and my husband had the lemon veal. The flavors were, like always, amazing and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The owners are like friends and make us feel like family every week. I highly recommend dining at Antica and every week try to bring new friends to enjoy the same experieces. Ten all the way!!
The restaurant itself is a nice place to dine in but the service was slow and the owner is totally unpleasant. He needs to smile more and relate to the workers in a better way. At times you can actually hear the owner talking inappropriately to his kitchen staff from the dining area. SInce the restaurant is open concept we, the cutomers can hear everything.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the taste was excellent and our chef came out to our table to make sure that we were enjoying everything. Real talent for such a young chef. Our disappointment was when the owner began disiplining his staff loudly in front of guests. We could hear him yelling and swearing from the bar into the kitchen. This certainly did not make for a pleasant enviroment while we were dining. A smile from the owners face would have been nice to see. While we were there we really had not seen anything that would require the owner YELLING at his staff and embarassing them in front of a busy resturant. I will be returning for sure, just for the great food and the chefs great personaliaty. Chao
