I've lived in Waterloo for over 30 years, and have never tried Casa Rugantino until today. Our friends (who dine here weekly) joined us for an exceptional lunch. Lasagna lived I've never tasted before. You owe it to yourself to eat here.

When we first arrived our table was not ready and with the establishment being so small we said we would wait on the patio (unattractive patio). We had no problem waiting but we thought someone would have taken drink orders. Upon being seated we realized there was only 1 girl on the floor. And did she know what she was doing! She certainly was working for her money. I was a little disappointed with the decor. Linens added to the table would give it a more European, fine dining experience. The cutlery we used for our three different courses was never replaced with new clean cutlery. The waitress actually took it off our plates (if left there) and set it back down on the table. Not attractive. That said the food was amazing. The best caesar salad I have ever had, the most flavourful pasta and everyone was in agreement their entres were delicious. 100% guarantee we will return.

The restaurant atmosphere was great. It is a very small family owned Italian eatery, which reminded me of my visit to Italy a few years ago. The food was wonderful. The price was great for what you received too. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely go again.

My wife and I actually eat here at least monthly and I just cannot fathom the low scoring! - This is an exceptional spot where the excellence is abundant - from the awesome food to the excellent house wines, the service and the ambiance - I'm just baffled how this isn't a 10 all around. - Don't be put off by this ranking and give it a try (if you can get in!!)

absolutely amazing,every bite was exciting with salivating flavour & I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful experience my wife & I had !!! service was great,wine was outstanding,scene was relaxed with a quaint authentic southern Italian flair.These people are a select few who truly know real food,real service in a corporate chain-food restaurant world !!!
