love this place! Giant stuffed Yorkie...mmmmm soo good. food is hot, fresh, restaurant is clean, BATHROOM is nice (for a refreshing change) staff are super friendly and the beer is cold. Very cozy warm decor with bench seats booths tables or bar stools make for a very relaxing atmosphere. Almost like sitting at home with book cases lamps and warm colors. Really great place, Id recommend it to anyone!
beware of wait times during busy seasons though, sometimes you can wait a long while for your food but busy means good so give it a try! it's worth the wait if you happen to go when its packed.
Great spot for lunch and dinner. I've eaten here often and have tried something different everytime. It's always good!!! Great selection of pub classics and they have a good selection of beers well. It is one of, if not, the cleanest pubs I've been to.
Absolutely incredible food, good draught selection
Kind of hard to select "Best Meal Ever" (5 stars) but I give the food 5 stars anyway because it's truly fantastic. The Scottish chef has a great palate. I can't recommend strongly enough staying away from the boring typical apps like poppers that are always frozen, go with the homemade apps like the delicious spinach dips. The pies and boxties are to die for, deliciously rich sauces and portions to quell the heartiest appetites.
If your beer is flat, it's likely the end of the keg. The bar has never had a problem swapping a pint for me the odd time I've gotten the dregs. Nice selection including one of my favourites, Bass.
The only problem I have with the Feathery is the televisions. Why do so few people know how to set up their TV's? They have a fairly decent large screen on the back wall, but you can't watch anything on it because they don't pay for HDTV feed, and the aspect ratio is always stretched so that hockey players look like some new species of humans that are 2ft wide and 3ft tall. Shame. I'd go there more often for sports events to increase their bar sales if they'd get the TV's right.
But for lunch or dinner? The food is the highlight for me, never had a bad meal there. Oh yeah, nachos are brilliant also.
We were there for dinner last week...a spur of the moment get together and we had a great time.... our service was friendly and on top of everything we needed.... the food was great and the beer was cold...what else can you ask for?
My friends and I go to The Feathery often enough, usually for get together's like birthdays. I went last September for my birthday, and we had a great time. Went Saturday evening on May 1st, for my friends Birthday. There were 9 of us, 8 of us eating, then the 9th person showed up a little later.
We had the worst waitress in the world. She was rude, forgot orders, thru things down on the table, and never gave us anything in a reasonable amount of time.
It was so bad that anytime we wanted anything to drink we would have to go up to the bar and order it. The server we had was so rude, she would come to the table take 2 peoples orders then come back 20 mins later and then ask if we were ready to order food, when we were sitting there for over a half hour with our menus closed waiting to order.
My boyfriend ordered a beer, and he waited 30 to 40 mins for it. The birthday boys girlfriend ordered a water and waited 30 mins for it.
When the server did come by our table, she would ignore us, and when she was there to grab plates, she grabbed one right out of my hands with chicken wings still on it.
The worst part was, tip was included, and none of us thought she deserved a tip because she was so rude and even insulted the birthday boy. She told him he was drinking wussy drinks, and when he asked what would you suggest, she snapped on him. When we were joking around, she snapped and said that we were cut off, when half of us didn't even have a drink and the others only had a couple.
We couldn't even have a good laugh and fun to celebrate a birthday. I can tell you, we aren't planning on going back unless we get a different server.
The one guy we usually get is the best server in the place, the others, especially the one we got (who looked like Lucy from Charlies Angels) was the worst server in the world.
Here's hoping she gets fired for her lousy excuse as a waitress.
